FOR LEGS

Having strong legs can help you perform everyday activities without causing stress on the rest of the body. Kicking a soccer ball with your family, bending down to put away groceries and even walking your dog can all be easier with stronger legs!

This machine strengthens your quads and hamstrings.

THE MACHINES

The circuit is made up of hydraulic resistance machines which are designed to give increasing resistance. As you get stronger, you can push harder and the machines will respond with more resistance making them perfect for women of any fitness level to continually achieve results.

Specially designed for women, each low-impact machine works at least two muscle groups and as many as four at one time because you push and pull, rather than lift and lower weight. Alternating upper body, lower body and core muscles, the Curves circuit provides a full body workout in just 30 minutes.

30-MINUTE

WORKOUT

Time is extra-precious for every multi-tasking woman out there. That’s why the Curves workout offers the benefits of a 90 minute workout in just 30 minutes!

Walk in and jump on any machine in the circuit! The Curves program includes all five components of a complete workout – warm-up, strength training, cardiovascular training, cool-down and stretching – all in just 30 minutes. You change stations every 30 seconds, allowing you to recover and work out different muscle groups.

You’ll work every major muscle group while keeping your heart rate within your target training zone. And with a circuit coach to teach and motivate you at every workout, you are sure to reach your fitness goals in no time. Whether you want to gain energy, tone up or lose weight, the Curves circuit will work for you.

Studies show that regular physical activity, such as the three-day- a-week Curves program, substantially reduces the risk of conditions including coronary heart disease, stroke, colon cancer, Type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis and high blood pressure. FRANK GREENWAY, M.D.

Dr. Greenway’s area of research is in the treatment of obesity with an emphasis on pharmacological and nutraceutical interventions. He is Professor and Medical Director of the Pennington outpatient research clinic in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

JUDITH RODRIGUEZ, PH.D, R.D., FADA

Dr. Rodriguez is Chairperson and Professor in the department of Nutrition and Dietetics, University of North Florida, and a Fellow and past president of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Dr. Rodriguez is an expert in nutrition education; food and culture; health disparities and Hispanic/Latino health and nutrition.

PAMELA M. PEEKE, M.D, MPH, FACP

Dr. Peeke is chairman of the Jenny Craig Science Advisory Board, Pew Foundation Scholar in Nutrition and Metabolism, Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. She is an internationally recognized expert, physician, scientist and New York Times best selling author in the fields of public health, nutrition, fitness and weight management.

ELIZABETH FRATES, M.D.

Dr. Frates is an Assistant Director of Medical Education at the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine, Harvard-Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and faculty advisor for the Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group at Harvard. She is a certified Wellness Coach and co-author of the wellness coaching chapter in the Lifestyle Medicine textbook. Dr. Frates’ work merges her physiatry and coaching skills. As an example, she leads wellness groups for stroke survivors at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
